Lightly sweet with a nutty caramel flavor, mesquite flour also known as powder is a traditional American and South American superfood which is created by milling its bean and pod into flour. This served as a main staple in Southern Native American’s diets and is a remarkably low glycemic, high protein, fiber, vitamin and mineral rich food. Because your body doesn’t naturally produce L-lysine, mequite is a wonderful bio-available source to ensure adequate intake and promote bone health while reducing stress and anxiety.

Mesquite shows up in many of my smoothie recipes, and I’ll be adding one cup flour to my bread this week to give a rounded flavor profile with some boosted benefits!
