Positive Thought Provoking Matcha Shake • Cathryn Fowler
Cathryn Fowler is a beautiful artist and alchemist that spends her time spreading joy, health, and love. Light and compassion radiate through her words, and I think it's one of the most beautiful things to witness. I'm honored to share her matcha shake recipe today.
C | No problem can come to you without an attached promise and provision. The quest is finding these jewels, those answers.
This is my current take on that statement:
Lately, I’ve been concentrating on appraising each one of my thoughts, more acutely, setting a value on thinking properly; adopting a new language if you will. It’s a simple notion, but it can have such dramatic results if put into practice with belief. In biology, the environment of our cells controls their fate. If we change the composition of that environment, we help change the fate of our cells. And so, the same goes for the brain, the chemist. The perception or picture the brain receives effects your environment, affecting your cells and thus affecting how you feel. (Note: At lease this is my elementary take on it. Definitely not a scientist over here! Source: Bruce Lipton, PH.D.)
Looking at the world with love, joy, and peace can be chemically broken down like this: the chemistry of love and joy is essentially the chemistry of health and happiness. Think dopamine, a chemical in your brain that affects your emotions, movements and sensations of pleasure and pain. Conversely, if we look at the world in fear, the body produces inflammatory agents, or stress. Think fight or flight mode.
So basically every time I have a negative thought, an inflammatory producing thought, I simply exchange it for the exact opposite.
I listen to my story and re-frame it in my mind.
At first, I tend to initially feel fear in new circumstances - a fear that I am not good enough, I have no value, a fear of everything that could go wrong.
Ex: I want to help council people in health and happiness, so they can live optimally in fulfillment of their purpose. I want to fuse stop motion storytelling, real food nutrition, and ultimately hope to promote healing. But, I keep experiencing road blocks halting me in my path, both in my own health and material shortcomings, which leaves me feeling fearful, with no value (if I only knew more, did more, were better at my crafts: etc), questioning if this is the right path.
But, in the spirit of exchanging those negative thoughts to positive thoughts, I’ve grown from fearful to quietly confident, to joyful, to excited. And I’m seeing the results manifesting.
You see, we are all so powerful, unless someone tells us we’re not, and we believe it.
Don’t believe it - you are so powerful and valuable. The jewel is inside of you, it’s in your thoughts and perceptions of the world.
Think positively, but more importantly stop negative thinking.
And so in exuberant celebration of Sun Potion’s Matcha release and mood elevating herbs and nutrition, I have my favorite morning smoothie as of late. Seriously thankful for the quality of Sun Potion herbs and their impact on my daily life. So grateful.
Handful of fresh mint
1/2 tsp Moringa - to help relieve anxiety
1/2 tsp Ashitaba - to help aid digestion, while also attributing to elevating the spirit
1 heaped tsp Matcha - to welcome in a sense of calm and focus
1/2 tsp Pine Pollen - to help support that ever needed hormonal balance, while also aiding in detoxing the liver
1/4 -1/2 Avocado - for some serotonin, a feel-good neurotransmitter
2 TB Tocos - to help remove toxins from the body
1 tsp Probiotics - to help that gut bacteria - which may be directly related to depression’s root cause
1 cup cashew mylk or cold gynostemma tea
Handful of frozen zucchini or cauliflower
1/2 tsp Mucuna Pruriens - containing 15% L-Dopa, the precursor to Dopamine
Optional: 1 scoop Vital Proteins Pasture-Raised, Grass-Fed Collagen Cocoa Whey
And, I use Omica Organics Plain Stevia to sweeten, or sometimes I add a few squeezes of lime or some berries.
What’s a feel good treat without some chocolate?! I pulse in one Addictive Wellness She Chocolate to trigger some more serotonin and help in balancing those hormones.
And, I focus on remembering my new language, the language of joy and hope while sipping in bliss. I focus on finding that jewel inside of me, my thoughts, and letting it shine.
