Roots & Ends

I picked up a tiny tip from a hair stylist in the last four months that I feel really compelled to share. If you are anything like me, you already live by the French rule of only washing your hair once to twice a week. But what about us air-dry natural folks that still seem to have super dry ends (from one too many ocean swims)?

WELL, this tiny tip has been pretty groundbreaking for me!

Only shampoo your roots. Rinse. Then condition your ends. WHOA, WHOA, WHOA! I've spent my whole life cleansing my whole head of hair. And it's been such a drying, nonsensical waste. Especially a waste in product. Shifting to only cleansing my roots has totally transformed my ends. They aren't as dry, AND they have double the volume, which gives it the fuller more lioness look that I really dig.

This is what I cleanse the roots with. This is what I condition the ends with. This is what I slap on the ends after a towel dry (to moisturize and hold the waves).
