White Miso Cashew Mylk Sprouted Cereal Bowl • Cathryn Fowler

Cathryn Fowler, one of the more intuitively creative recipe crafters I know, shares a couple of fun recipes to follow up yesterday's piece on Intuitive Eating.

I am a confessed cereal lover. Not just any cereal, I used to pour cereal and sprinkle every whimsical ingredient I could find in the pantry on top. Animal crackers. Why not? Chocolate chips. Even better! Marshmallows. Now we’re talking! Although, I draw my line at spaghetti, pop tart/maple syrup breakfasts (Elf, anyone?).

Nowadays, it’s grass-fed gelatin, herb, avocado smoothie bowls loaded with cacao nibs, bee pollen, goji berries, and bulletproof marshmallows (still sneaking those in there!); but my latest summer love is white miso cashew milk poured over sprouted cereal, topped with matcha whipped cream, pieces of nori, and a sprinkle of Sun Potion Tocos. It has the salty and sweet combination I love, as well as the gut healing benefits from miso, and it still runs reminiscent with my whimsical childhood bowls of cereal comfort. (It doesn’t get much more whimsical than Sun Potion Tocos).

This is definitely a recipe you can play around with by creating your own magical concoction.

(with matcha whip cream, pieces of nori, and a sprinkle of Sun Potion Tocos)

8 oz homemade cashew milk (or milk of choice)
2 heaping tsp cacao powder
1 tsp mesquite
Omica Organics Plain Stevia to Sweeten
1 tsp white (sweet) miso
Optional: a dropper full of Anima Mundi Adaptogenic Tincture or 1/2 tsp Sun Potion He Shou Wu

Strawberry version:
8 oz homemade cashew milk (or milk of choice)
3-4 strawberries
1 tsp white miso
Omica Organics Stevia to sweeten
Optional: 1/2 tsp Sun Potion pine pollen

Chilled coconut cream (from the thickest part a refrigerated organic coconut milk can)
1/2 tsp matcha
Omica Organics Stevia to sweeten
Optional: 1/2 tsp Sun Potion ashitaba
Whip ingredients together until fluffy with a whip cream texture.

PROCESS | Pour milk over sprouted cereal of choice. Add a dollop of matcha whip cream, if desired, along with sprinkles of nori and a spoonful of Sun Potion Tocos. Spoons up and let the daydreams ensue.

And, if you would like some marshmallows thrown on there, might I suggest Nick and Adriana’s upgraded version.
