A Perfect Spring Day In Portland

free-and-native-portland-Golden hour PDX

The last three weeks have been brutal for me in way of work. There was a point last week where I thought I'd short-circuit and explode. And don't get me wrong, I support my stress with two massages a week, daily Vedic meditation, and acupuncture; but nothing was soothing my building stress.

So Max and decided to hop on a flight up to Portland to completely check out. My computer didn't open once. It was the perfect four-day getaway. Here is what I would deem a perfect spring day in Portland.

For the Belle Smoothie (add hemp seeds)

After sleeping in, which for me means 7a, I'd make a protein breakfast at Max's family's house, do the morning Sadhana that Desiree Pais prescribed me, meditate, and then head off to Harlow for a mid-morning Smoothie snack.

Golden Hour

Then we'd pop into Golden Hour to receive some quick acupuncture in their chic wellness space. Ahhh.. I can already feel the stress melting away.

Then we'd dip into Spartan Shop really quick to see what little new objects need to come home and live with us.

Shalom Y'all

Now I'm hungry, so I'd pop into my FAVORITE eatery in all of Portland, Shalom Y'all, which is mediterranean street food. I'm not kidding, I could eat here every meal. Especially the lamb hummus, warm olives, and cauliflower.

I also spotted my favorite dress next door in WM Goods

And it wouldn't be a Portland trip if I didn't dip into Loyly for a Swedish sauna session to sweat out all the toxins from my stress filled weeks prior.

Now it's time to SHOP (tax free)!! I found my FAVORITE clothing store in Portland. Literally made for me. Conscious, chic, minimalism with some of my favorite California brands. Max gifted me this crop tee and these pants. I still have my eye on this sweater. And Jen, who owns it, is a total light beam. It turns out that we share the same breathwork teacher, Lauren Spencer King.

Laurelhurst Park

It's finally sunny, so I'd pop into Providore for some Oregon strawberries, sparkling water and goods to have a little afternoon snack and Vedic meditation at Laurelhurst Park.

Field Trip

Apothicary & Home

And of course, Field Trip is the next stop for clean and chic apothecary and home goods; and a peek at the calendar to see if Kara is hosting any amazing workshops while I'm in town.

We'd wrap up the day by grabbing dinner with Kara of Field Trip and her husband Steve at Afuri. Because I'm still on the AIP protocol, so I'd indulge in the poke, seaweed salad, and hamachi.

The only thing I missed out on this trip was getting a facial from the best facialist on the planet, Ally of Heart Of Gold. Next time!

Thanks Portland for the sun, good people, and new friends!
