The Perfect Buyer for My Guitar
I manifested the perfect buyer for my old guitar! I listed it for $130 and said I would accept any reasonable offer. I said to my bf last night, “You know, I would take $100. I just want to know that something I’ve loved is going somewhere to someone like me who is going to treasure it but actually play it every day.”
I had written this dramatic post for Craigslist and Fbook. Today I got an email, I told her make it an even $100 and it’s hers. She met me after work to pick it up and we were talking. She was telling me how she’s in grad school for economics and her bf is in school for Arabic studies. She goes, “Actually, he’s from the UK.” I was like, “omg! My bf is British, too!” So we had a laugh. And I told her that her email resonated with me bc I put a lot of thought into gifts and plan them months in advance and she was like, “me too! I’m already thinking about Christmas!”
She just felt like a younger version of me. I told her to send me a video of my guitar getting played and she followed through! She said her bf played it for 3 hours. He told her he loved that the guitar had a backstory. I had a good cry about it. It felt like cutting ties with a piece of my old self, but it was necessary. It felt wrong to leave her collecting dust. Now she’s getting a second life with someone who truly treasures her. Mixed emotions, but my heart is also so full.
