A Boost In Unlikely Times

At the start of the stay at home order, I temporarily closed my two yoga studios. We immediately shifted as much as we could online, got creative, and have proceeded to keep connected to our community in a time of serious fear. My goal has been to leave my corporate job to devote myself full time to the studios and expand to a place where they’re really aligned and profitable... ahem, so I can pay myself a normal salary. Around this time, I joined the pathway to do relationship work (I still haven’t finished Unblocked Money) and have been slowly diving in.

After applying for all the gov’t programs for my business, deeply worrying about payroll, rent, and loan payments, and going into a big negativity spiral, my SBA disaster loan came through. It’s a loan, but at below-market terms, so I thought, cool.. a little extra cash to hopefully guide us through. When I got the offer, it was for $82k. My earth was rocked. I figured I would get maybe 5k if I was lucky.

I’ve got a yoga business. Banks are generally not super excited to lend to fitness. I have been hell bent on doing this as carefully as I can, so limited loans, bootstrap the hell out of everything. It has been slow, steady progress over four years. Although this is a loan, the terms are SO good I really felt this was magnetism showing up. It will literally change the face of my business and give us an energetic boost to really kick ass. You know what they say... it’s always darkest before dawn.
