Learning Through Tests & An Unexpected Job Offer
Name: Leslie Hines
Where do you reside?: Gulf Shores, AL
What is your cultural upbringing and background?: I am very white, according to 23 and Me. English, Irish, Scottish, and a teensy bit of Norwegian in ancestry. I guess I'm just American; my ancestors came to Virginia starting in 1580, so it seems silly to say anything else. I was raised in Monroeville, Alabama (home of To Kill A Mockingbird fame) by a single mom and my maternal grandparents.
Are you currently a Pathway Member?: Yes
What was on your manifestation list?:
-A new Job ( I lost mine during COVID)
- Getting vaccinated before going back to work
-Spending the summer with my son, who is in college
- A compact from the Marc Jacobs holiday collection ( this was a small one but one of my favorites because it was so specific)
- An extra lucky Beautylish Lucky bag.
What workshops did you use and what blocks did you discover during the DIs & workshops?: I did Unblocked Inner Child (twice) and Unblocked Shadow (three times) and continued using the reinforcing DI. I also did Unblocked Money, Authentic Code, Elements of Magnetism - Free, Rut, and in the Daily Practice, I used Health and Body and Deservingness and Abundance the most. I also used the Unblocked Flower Remedy during this time.
What expanders did you find?: I got a ping to really go in for a deep edit on my social media, Instagram in particular. I started following more artists, dancers, and funny pets. I unfollowed or muted a lot of accounts that made me feel less than or picked at. I found so many expanders this way. Probably one of my biggest expanders is Ashley Longshore, a pop artist who was raised in the south who is very authentically herself and so free. One of my long-term manifestation is to one day own one of her original paintings.
What tests did you face? Which did you pass? Not pass?: On my original list, I wanted a bicycle. I mentioned that to my ex, and he said he had an extra bike in his garage and sent me a picture, and it was even the EXACT brand I wanted. He said he would just give it to me and I said I would take it if he would bring it to me (about three hours away). I couldn't rely on him when we were together, and I don't have a bicycle now.
I would call this a half pass because I knew not to offer to go get it. Most of my tests came in the form of patience, learning to accept that what I want may not be on my timeline, and these tests happened basically every day. I also was tested through not-aligned job opportunities... one, in particular, I definitely did not pass.
Did you experience a magic dark period? If so, tell us about it.: It was dark. I don't know how magic it was, though! lol I did have a very difficult period of a complete lack of movement in February, only tests. I was super low. I cried almost every day. I felt so hopeless and like I would never have a purpose again. I actively had to create things to look forward to.
How did your manifestation come through?: In my DI's, I would always see my manifestation just coming to me. It always found me. When it came through, I was reached out to by a recruiter through LinkedIn for a job I did not apply for.
How long did it take for your manifestation to come through after crafting your initial list?: Seven months
How frequently were you using the workshops and DI's when you noticed the biggest shift surrounding your manifestation?: Daily. Twice daily if I could fit it in.

Is there anything else you think we should know? If you made this process your own in any way, this is the perfect spot to share that.: Coaching with Atarah is what really opened up my process. That outside perspective was the key.
As for my daily routine, I really integrate what was new in the DI or what came out in the journaling when I am outside or exercising. Especially in the shadow work doing an activity after where the integration and release could happen was necessary for my practice. I actually just realized as I am writing this I don't do shadow work at night. I don't want to go to bed with that. I like to go out into the sun after I have done shadow work. Being in the sun is how I like to finish my practice.
