Finding an Amazing Job & Apartment Because I Refused To Settle
Name: Nikki Pivaro
Are you currently a Pathway Member?: No
What was on your manifestation list?: New job, new apartment
What workshops did you use and what blocks did you discover during the DIs & workshops?: Unblocked Inner Child & The Manifestation DRE
What expanders did you find?: 3 acquaintances who all "got lucky" finding an affordable apartment in the area I was looking in. I also found expanders while reaching out to other teachers in my district who loved their school sites.
What tests did you face? Which did you pass? Not pass?: The main tests I ran into were apartments that were missing one key element I wanted, such as parking, or seemed to have it all but had disrespectful or vague building managers, & definitely a few that looked awesome but were out of my price range. When it came to work, I told myself I would not apply at a school just to leave; it had to have three specific elements I wanted, one being I would not even apply if it did not have the word "art" in the school name. (I wanted an arts-based high school).
Did you experience a magic dark period? If so, tell us about it.: I really dedicated myself to this cause, and even with how much I was focusing on upleveling, it still took me five months to land my apartment. I constantly was checking the school vacancy list, and it took three months before I saw a school I was remotely interested in and then two more weeks for me to even bother evaluating if I wanted to apply or not.
How did your manifestation come through?: With my job, it was one of my first notable pings. I was sitting outside with my cat and just- "got a feeling" to check the teacher vacancy list, and the first newly updated result was a school for the arts. It's also a school that my current AP transferred from & would be able to give me an honest description of. She believed it would be a wonderful fit for me. I killed the interview and was offered the job 15 mins later!!!
My apartment came through as my final try before deciding to take a break from the five month long search. It was adorable, had kind landlords, and was in a better location than I even imagined & had a sense of security. After the showing, the landlords thought I was a kind person and lowered the rent for me!!!
What is your cultural upbringing and background?: Mexican American (half white)
