Name: Emily Nelson

Are you currently a Pathway Member?: Yes

What was on your manifestation list?: I wanted to rent my own studio or one-bedroom apartment, which included the following: close to the train, walking distance to work, natural light, access to a deck, new appliances, laundry in unit, hardwood floors, exposed brick, for $1500 or less a month.

What workshops did you use and what blocks did you discover during the DIs & workshops?: Unblocked Shadow and Authentic Code.

What expanders did you find?: Two coworkers who recently mentioned (separately) that they were living in a one-bedroom apartment for $1500, both in my neighborhood.

What tests did you face? Which did you pass? Not pass?: I have lived with roommates for ten years and have been calling in a studio or one-bedroom apartment for over two years. This apartment ticked ALL the boxes. I already live in the building and found this apartment through my friend who lived there upstairs, but when she told me she was moving out, I knew I had to jump on it. I asked our landlord how much he was renting it out for, and it was $75 over my maximum budget. I had written down numerous times that $1500 was my max, and it was $1575, so I had to say no.

I knew this was a test. I felt good about walking away and felt that this was an expander apartment for something that was coming my way in my budget. Well, three weeks later, my landlord lets me know that he lowered the rent to $1500, so I reconsidered it, but then another test came up of having to pay a broker's fee of $750 plus first, last and security deposit, so it seemed like it might all be too expensive again. I let him know that I had to think about it. The next day, he let me know that the brokers' fee would be waived and that he would also waive the security deposit since he knew me!

Did you experience a magic dark period? If so, tell us about it.: Yes! So my last roommate and I had completely different schedules, so we would barely see each other and both have enough alone time at the apartment. Well, Covid hit, and suddenly I was out of work for a few months, and he was working from our living room. We were both so frustrated. We had zero alone time; we were crammed in a tiny apartment with no privacy beyond our small rooms and with him working from home. I was always having to be quiet and tiptoe around so that I didn't disturb his endless work calls. I felt trapped and hopeless.

How did your manifestation come through?: After two years of living with my roommate and one year of living with him in Covid times, I started to look at apartments seriously. I had written down numerous times my list for what I wanted and what I wanted to pay, but I never trusted that I deserved it or would find it. After some Shadow work, DI's, and meditations, I built up my trust muscle. My friend moved out of her apartment. I reached out to my landlord about renting it right away, faced tests & passed them, and was suddenly offered my absolute dream apartment!
