Buying My Dream Car After A Huge Test

Name: Alicia Andry

Where do you reside?: Omaha, NE

What is your cultural upbringing and background?: Single-family, lower-middle-income home (with my mom) in a medium-sized town until I was 8 when my mom remarried and we moved to just north of Clearwater, FL. Once in FL, it was a melting pot of cultural activity that I was encouraged to embrace as much as possible. We were never rich but no longer poor. Grit and personal integrity were always valued highly.

Are you currently a Pathway Member?: Yes

What was on your manifestation list?: I have created several lists since becoming a Pathway member, but in early 2020, I added a newer, larger car to that list when I realized that my very old Honda Accord just wasn't serving me any longer. I wanted something with four doors instead of 2 and something that my boyfriend and I could pile into with both pets and still be comfortable. That to me meant a Honda Crosstour. As silly as it might sound, that was my dream car from the moment I first laid my eyes on one 5-6 years earlier.

I told all of my family and friends that I wanted to get a Honda Crosstour when I was ready to let go of my Accord. There had been several times in 2019 that I thought I was going to have to get a newer car, so even though a Honda Crosstour wasn't officially on my manifestation list until 2020, it was on my mind for at least a year prior and I had made several attempts in 2019 to find one without success.

What workshops did you use and what blocks did you discover during the DIs & workshops?: I have done How to Manifest, Unblocked Inner Child (1 1/2 times), Unblocked Shadow, Unblocked Money, and some of the Supported episodes, along with Emotional Clearing and Prosperity from the Daily Practice. I can't say there was ONE workshop or DI that I focused on or that helped me with this particular manifestation. I think this work is holistic in that respect, and I primarily flow from one workshop to another based on what I feel called to do.

What expanders did you find?: Honestly, I have yet to find someone who acts as an expander for me on all levels, but throughout my experience of listening to the podcast and the different workshops, etc., I have found many different people who act as expanders for me in various ways. For this particular manifestation of my new car, my biggest expanders were probably the people on the road that I would see driving the same car. There was also the occasional co-worker who would demonstrate to me what it looks like to truly feel deserving of good things in life, with no conditions or strings attached.

What tests did you face? Which did you pass? Not pass?: I think early on I had a lot of tests that would challenge my belief that I deserved or could afford my dream car. When I first became aware of this car, they were still pretty new on the market, and I felt the cost of a brand new car was unattainable. I would look at other cars that were in the price range that I had set for myself but never found anything that lived up to the Honda Crosstour in my head. No matter how much I searched, I never seemed to find a good used Crosstour either. Then in 2020, after a year of not looking at all, I started to feel a very strong pull that I needed to look for a newer car again.

I decided to search for a Honda Crosstour locally on a whim, and I found one about 30 minutes away! I had a certain amount of money saved up for this car, and I didn't want to go any higher than that price, and this Crosstour was quite a bit under my budget. However, it was slightly older and had more miles than I typically look for in a used car. I decided to go test drive it anyway. It was a Monday evening after work. I drove the car and really loved it, but I told the salesman that I wasn't planning to buy that night because I like to sleep on big decisions. When we arrived back at the dealership, a gentleman who had test-driven the same car that morning was back and wanted to buy it.

I remember he and I sat in the lobby together and started to chat. He felt I should have dibs on this car because I had driven it most recently, and I felt he should have dibs because he test drove it before I did. This conversation went on for 30 minutes until I was able to speak with the salesman again. In his office, it came down to me needing to make the decision at that moment. I contemplated and felt very confused for about 10 minutes. But then I realized the red flags of the situation. I had promised myself that I would not make a purchase that night because I wanted a chance to sleep on it and possibly take the car to my mechanic the next day. Plus, the car was slightly older and had more miles than what I was looking for in a used car.

In a moment of clarity, I told the salesman that I was going to pass, but if the other gentleman didn't buy the car, he could call me. And I left. I got a call 30 minutes later from the salesman, who called to tell me that the other person had purchased the car. The salesman actually felt bad that he didn't have two models of the Crosstour to sell. I told him not to worry and that I believed my Crosstour was out there and that the Universe would bring it to me.

Did you experience a magic dark period? If so, tell us about it.: The first time I started contemplating a new car was in January or February 2019 when my Accord was hit, and I expected it to be totaled out. Luckily, it wasn't totaled, but I buckled down during that time and started looking at potential used Crosstour. I found several, but they were in places like New York and California, so I had no way of test driving them first. None of them were in the price range that I was looking for either, and I began to feel like I was going to have to look at other options besides the Crosstour that I was so in love with. For the remainder of 2019, I didn't find any, and in fact, I started trying to talk myself into another Accord or even something completely different.

At one point, I gave up the search completely for several months and decided to focus my energy on being happy with what I already had in my life. I would consider that entire time to be a bit of a magic dark because although a Honda Crosstour was not officially on my manifestation list, it was on the list in my head. The second magic dark was very short and took place between the Monday when I walked away from the first Crosstour that I test drove (situation explained in the "tests" section above), and the Wednesday when I found MY Crosstour (explained in the "manifestation" section below). It was a short period of time, but during those couple of days, I spent the time reinforcing to myself that I had made the right decision and had no idea how long it would be before I found another opportunity to consider a Crosstour again. Based on my experience in 2019, I expected it would be MUCH longer than a couple of days.

How did your manifestation come through?: Two days after I test drove the first Crosstour, I found two other Crosstours listed locally! The first one was much newer and above my price range. I test drove it, had my mechanic look it over, but couldn't quite get over the price tag. The second one was listed as "green," which I wasn't thrilled about, but I decided to look at it anyway. My boyfriend and I went to the dealership that had the "green" Crosstour, and as we were led out to test drive it, I took one look at it and knew it was THE car for me. My boyfriend even elbowed me and whispered into my ear, "That's your car!" as we were walking towards it.

It turns out that it was grey, not green! It was within my age and mileage parameters, and it was $500 less than the budget I had set for myself! It even had extra bells and whistles on it that I had never thought of, like a roof rack. It was at that moment that I had realized the experiences with the previous two Crosstours were both tests (especially the first one when I knew that walking away from that car meant that someone else was going to buy it immediately), and that I had manifested my dream car.

How long did it take for your manifestation to come through after crafting your initial list?: From the time I physically added this particular item to my list, it took about two months.

frequently were you using the workshops and DI's when you noticed the biggest shift surrounding your manifestation?: During those two months, I think I was working through Unblocked Shadow and was doing the Daily Practice on the days that I wasn't doing Unblocked Shadow.

How do you incorporate this work into your life on a daily basis? Any tips, tricks or recommendations for getting the most out of it, or personalizing it?: I have a job that allows me to tune into podcasts, so I listen to the Expanded Podcast and the Supported episodes while I work. I have even done some of the DIs while working, whenever the task I am working on allows me to multitask in a way that I can focus on the DI simultaneously. The first time I tried this method, I was surprised that it worked as well as it did for me. In some ways, I almost feel like I reach a deeper level in the DIs when my eyes are open, and my mind is doing something else that is rather automatic to me. Listening to a DI during that time is almost like focused daydreaming if that makes sense. But instead of randomly daydreaming, I am walking through the DI process instead.
